Bed with bronze applications At the foot of the bed there is a series of bronze applications made from plant scrolls, garlands and egg mouldings. The headboard is topped with a basket of flowers flanked by two putti. The four posts are topped with vases of flowers. All these elements are of classical inspiration, and contrast with the movement of the profiles of the footboard and the headboard. This combination is characteristic of 19th century furniture, and, due to its success, was maintained later.
