Centerpiece. Calamine. France, 19th century. A centrepiece made of corrugated iron, slightly raised on legs and with two handles on the sides. The elaborate and delicate decoration based on architectural elements, garlands, plant motifs and scrolls (all with a classicist influence) is arranged in a harmonious geometric composition. The piece is inspired by Rococo works from the 18th century and Neoclassical works from the 19th century.
