Reference: Z6808
Albarelo or pharmacy jar. Enameled porcelain. Towards the second half of the 19th century. Circular jars with a ball-shaped lid, decorated on the outside with fine, protruding mouldings and a composition based on garlands and classicist elements surrounding the labels with the name of the medicine they contained, written in Latin, in capital letters and in black. This type of object was a basic element in apothecaries and pharmacies until the appearance and generalisation of factory-packaged medicines, since they were used to store certain substances used in the preparation of remedies.
