“Madrid, a jug stand on the San Isidro meadow”. Framed engraving. LIZCANO MONEDERO, Ángel (1846-1929). This engraving was published in 1880 in La Ilustración Española y Americana. Ángel Lizcano was a Spanish painter and illustrator who began his training at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, as well as making copies of works from both the Museo del Prado and those of his contemporaries (Leonardo Alenza, etc.). He was sent to Italy by the Marquis of Bedmar to complete his training there. He later travelled widely around Spain and took part in various National Fine Arts Exhibitions, as well as in the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878. He collaborated with La Ilustración Española y Americana, illustrated books, etc. His work can be seen in numerous private collections and in institutions such as the Museo del Prado in Madrid, the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, etc.
