Landscape. Oil on canvas. DEL VAL TROUILLHET, Mercedes (Valladolid, 1926-2012). Signed (lower right area). Mercedes del Val Trouillhet was a painter from Valladolid who began her training at a very young age (her first lessons at the age of seven, directed in Madrid by her teacher Timoteo Pérez Rubio). After the Civil War, she went on to study with the great draughtsman and poster artist José Picó Mitjans (1904-1991). From the beginning of her career she dealt with the subject of landscape, especially Castilian, and showed her work in various exhibitions (Valladolid in 1947, later Madrid, Córdoba, etc.). She also received several awards (Silver Medal at the XXIX Autumn Salon in Madrid in 1957...) and her painting is preserved in various private collections and in institutions such as the Museum of the University of Valladolid.

Mine or ship telephone, HF model, type ST-1. Second half of the 20th century. Telephone for use in a mine or on a ship and to be attached to a wall or vertical surface consisting of a metal box to protect the machinery and the handset, which is attached to one side of the box, with the cord or cable emerging from below (next to the line socket); on the other side is the usual crank in the model. These types of pieces were made with certain materials and shapes, prioritising their usefulness and resistance but without completely forgetting an aesthetic aspect that can be appreciated in the lines of the box, etc. and which is appreciated today.

Coal box. Brass, wood, iron. Northern Europe, 19th century. Rectangular box placed on four pulleys or wheels to move it, covered on the outside with metal, decorated with a series of genre scenes enhanced by bands of plant motifs. These chests were used to keep coal near the fireplace, and their use is known in England, Holland, etc. Weight: 5 kg.

Saint Thomas of Villanueva. Painted glass. 18th century. It has faults. Painted glass with a simple wooden frame showing Saint Thomas of Villanueva (with his name written in the lower area). A saint of the Order of Saint Augustine, he became archbishop of Valencia by order of a superior, because he always refused. He was canonized in 1658, and is also considered the first saint to come out of the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).

Candlestick with triangular base. Bronze. Spain, 18th century. Bronze candlestick with a triangular base raised on three legs and enhanced with mouldings, a balustraded shaft with discs of different diameters and a top with similar decoration, right in the area used for the candle. This type of element was common in the 18th century, both in important private houses and in monasteries, convents, churches, etc., and the present work corresponds to a very common typology in Spain at that time.

Open-edged cylindrical mortar with two handles, banded decoration on the outside (scrolls and birds; floral details; inscription in capital letters “JAN – HEINRICK – TER – HYLICE – EECITE – ANNO – 1641”) and a base that is also slightly inclined outwards. The tubular pestle has engraved lines and mouldings. Stylistically, this piece is inspired by European works of the 17th century. Weight: 3.9 kg.

Courtesan. Carved tiger's eye. China, 20th century. Female figure made of tiger's eye (quartz, limonite and riebeckite, with a cat's eye or chatoyancy effect) showing a young lady, with a cloth floating over her shoulders and a flowering branch in one of her hands, and in a graceful attitude that would make one think of a dancing courtesan. It is possible that it represents Guanyin, the name given in China to Avalokitesvara bdhisattva venerated in Buddhism.

Cup, “Flora’s Dance”. Glass. Val-Saint-Lambert, Belgium, 20th century. Glass vase or goblet with a frieze depicting a dance in gold, designed by Leon Ledru; it is also linked to Metisse. Val Saint Lambert is a glass company in operation since 1826 and with headquarters in the former Seraing Abbey (Liège, Belgium). In 1825, Jean-François Deneef settled in Val Saint-Lambert with the intention of creating a crystal factory better than Baccarat's. In fact, it is highly appreciated for the quality of its products, and it has been the quality of its crystal that has brought it several awards. Weight: 2.4 kg.
