Bronze figure placed on a circular base showing a humbly dressed child, holding a teapot and raising his hand to his mouth in a gesture of shouting or hawking his “merchandise” or services. The piece is reminiscent of European works (France, Vienna…) from the late 19th or early 20th century, both in the material chosen and in the subject matter of the sculpture, its size, composition, detail, etc. The inscription on the base (P. Dubois) refers to the sculptor Paul Dubois (France, 1829-1905), whose work inspired this sculpture (especially one in particular, very similar to this one).
