Martyrdom of Saint Peter. Oil on copper. Flemish school, 17th century. Oil on copper with a figurative scene set in a natural landscape, with a series of buildings reminiscent of the Classical period to the right. In the foreground, Saint Peter is shown being crucified upside down, as tradition dictates, surrounded by a crowd, some of whom are also dressed in the Classical style. The depiction of a soldier pulling a rope to raise the cross is reminiscent of Baroque compositions (Caravaggio, Rizzi, Sébastien Bourdon, Luca Giordano, José Antolínez, etc.).
