Decoration - Bronze Sculptures
Reference: V2141
Bronze sculpture. “Girl with goat”. Inspired by models by Affortunato Gory (1895-1925). Lost wax casting. Marble base. The girl sits with her legs stretched out in front of her and reaches out with her arms to grab the goat's horns, which is shown in a fighting attitude. It is based on the work "The Girl and the Goat" by Affortunato Gory, an Italian sculptor trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence with Augusto Rivalta who moved to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century to complete his training with Antoine Basset. His work is characterized by the frequent themes of young women, children and some historical figures and by the combination of marble with bronze and ivory in some of his works.
