Advertising poster, La Estrella café. Cardboard. Spain, early 20th century. It has faults. Advertising poster for a well-known coffee brand, La Estrella, with a curious slogan relating to its aroma. La Estrella was founded in 1887 in Badajoz by José Gómez Tejedor, obtaining the patent for roasted coffee in Spain in 1901. He developed and registered a Cuban trick used by miners of wrapping coffee beans in sugar to preserve them better. His technique of fixing the aroma during roasting managed to change the way coffee was consumed, since before the aroma could not be preserved and it had to be roasted in the places where the drink was consumed.
