Dressing table mirror. Mahogany wood, glass. 19th century. Oval mirror with a frame made of smooth mouldings mounted on a frame, all in carved mahogany, composed of turned rods with discs (the horizontal ones) and with balustrade shapes (the two vertical ones), the four with square cubes interrupting their lines. Note the combination of details common in furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries with others from the Neoclassicism of the 19th century. This combination of influences was common in the 19th century, within the framework of Historicism.

“Veilleuse” snail lamp. Snail, bronze, plastic, etc. 20th century. Lamp adapted for electric light with a bronze base (decorated with winged human forms and hoofed legs) and a shell body (the light source is inside the shell). This type of lamp was highly appreciated both for the exotic nature of the shell material and for the decoration that usually finished them off. Damage.

Albarelo or pharmacy jar. Enameled porcelain. Towards the second half of the 19th century. Circular jars with a ball-shaped lid, decorated on the outside with fine, protruding mouldings and a composition based on garlands and classicist elements surrounding the labels with the name of the medicine they contained, written in Latin, in capital letters and in black. This type of object was a basic element in apothecaries and pharmacies until the appearance and generalisation of factory-packaged medicines, since they were used to store certain substances used in the preparation of remedies. Modernist style tray (Jugendstil Art Nouveau). Pewter. Kayserzinn, Germany, around 1900. With brand. Silver-plated pewter tray in the shape of a leaf and raised on spherical legs, featuring a handle and a floral-themed decoration in light relief. Kayserzinn was born in 1862, thanks to the Kayser family, reaching its peak in 1899. They displayed their creations at various International Exhibitions (Paris in 1900, Dusseldorf and Saint Louis in 1904), and were especially appreciated for their pewter works (trays, knife-rests, jugs, etc.) thanks to several important designers (Hugo Leven, Karl Geyer, Hermann Fauser, etc.).

Pair of candlesticks. Bronze. 19th century. Pair of bronze candlesticks with a hexagonal base followed by a circular shape that gently rises to the axis; the latter has a vase-like shape in its centre, enhanced by various mouldings; the pieces are finished off, as usual, by the lighters, tubular but with the upper edge flared outwards. Although this type of piece was basic in many European houses as early as the 17th century, it should be noted that this pair has a series of details that do not follow the most common models.

Two parasols. Wood, metal, textile, etc. Europe, early 20th century. One has a printed textile on a light background and a light wooden handle finished with a silver metal knob shaped like a walking stick and decorated with flowers. The hallmarks on it identify it as being made of “nickel silver” or “German silver” (an alloy of zinc, copper and nickel also called alpaca). The other umbrella, with brown textile and a possibly wooden handle, and a spherical knob with flowers and spirals that is possibly silver in colour (it has no hallmarks).
